ABOUT THIS PORTFOLIO

This portfolio focuses on projects made at the University of Oregon starting in the winter of 2021. Two out of the three terms a year, architecture students have the opportunity to participate in a studio course with a professor who is experienced in the architecture field. The first four studios have the entire cohort of students working on the same project, while the following four allow the students to pick a project that is most interesting to them. In addition, for each new studio term, the selection of professors changes, allowing the students to have different guidance as they continue through the program.

Moreover, there is a multitude of other projects which happen through other courses. Most of these projects seek to teach the students about the structure of a building, the environmental control systems, or the different software used in professional settings.

Christiana Gannon

Architecture Student

I am a fourth-year architecture student at the University of Oregon. I have a triple minor in Italian language, disability studies, and landscape architecture. In addition, during high school, I participated in the vocational school that partnered with my local high school to learn more about carpentry. In the future, I would like to go back to school for civil engineering to further my knowledge on the structural aspects of a design. Architecture firms that focus on sustainable and affordable structures are what I am most interested in going into my professional career.
