Completed Studio Projects
This page showcases some of the projects completed in studio terms at the University of Oregon over the past three years. The first studio term was a combination of many smaller projects while the other studios focused on one or two building typologies.

The purpose of this assignment was to rejuvenate a once beautiful landscape that had been partially ruined by the installment of a canal throughout the land. As a studio team, we worked together to bring back the natural beauty that was once there through minimalist structures intended to emphasize the lands natural shape and flow. As an individual project I took on designing a public outhouse that would not only connect to nature but also ensure that people felt comfortable in the space. The goal was for the structure to remain simple while still being elegant in a sense. It based just off the river edge and features a design that is intended to collect rainwater that can later be used to flush, and clean one's hands, and/or it can be used for a quick outdoor shower.

This project was a joint effort with two parties useing previously created structures to design an inbetween domain that could be utilized by those who choose to visit. The idea was to use the land to merge the two spaces together and create an entirely new space. This in turn led me and my partner to have two different ideas and to colleaborate with each other while still working on our own deisgn ideas. For mine, the apparent nature of the replicatiing angles stuck out the most and thus those became further emphasized. The pool of mine was lenthend and connected to one of her sets of steps which I lowred to continue the pool. Futhermore her triangular stairs where tanslates across to my project and in turn created more raised spaces thtoughout the in between space. There were trees added for shade and to act as further buffers for more private spaces. My structure raised a bit higher to that we had a level that would match across the structures and not just along the ground.
Boathouse and Community Hall
The goal of this project was to design a space where a crew team could store their gear in addition to a community hall. The site was a fairly secluded forest right on the edge of a lake where the crew teams could practice. I sought to design a space which was simple yet had a bit something more. To do this I created a roof which resembled a flower on top of a rectangular frame. To maintain the simplicity, the boathouse had a simple structure with a facade that matched materials with the community hall.
Portland Performance Hall
The thought behind the layout of this building as well as the elevation is to stick with the theme which seems to create the landscape around the center but also modernize it a bit. Instead of having a brik facade, the structure will have a terracota cover. The varing lengths of the tile represent the rain in Oregon and how it drips down the building. The main goal though was to emphasize the theaters and give people a wonderful space to visit. The theaters were placed on two floors in order to emphasize the importance of each
Office Outside an Office
The purpose of this studio is to create a space which can be used to work, while not being an office. Because the idea is for the the buildings to be as far away from an office is possible, a green house mixed with a cermic studio seemed like it create the ideal calm atmosphere while still having nooks and small amounts of amibient noise for a working space. Additionally, these spots allow for one to take a break from their work and particiapte in other activities around.
